A message from the Dream Program’s New Executive Director/Chairman of the Board, Billy Dungan.
Dear Family and Friends of the Dream Program,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support for our program over the past 10 years. We have celebrated many successes and wonderful moments through the years of providing inclusive leisure and recreational programs for individuals with varying abilities on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
Recently, our Founder and Executive Director, Troy Trigg accepted a position with a company in Austin, Texas. Although this was one of the toughest decisions for Troy to make, this move was a great opportunity for his family and an advancement for his professional career. We would like to express our deepest appreciation for all of the hard work and dedication that he and his wife Lindsay put in to the program to get it started and thriving over the past 10 years. They will be greatly missed. As we transition forward, our Board of Directors have committed to ensuring these great works and foundation will continue to flourish in the years to come.
I am proud to introduce myself as the new Executive Director and Chairman of the Board. There is no greater honor than to have the opportunity to serve in a position to further the mission of such a great organization as the Dream Program in our community. I have been active with the program since 2007 when my daughter Kelsi began participating in various activities. I became a member of the Board of Directors in 2009.
During this time, I have been a very active member including having served as the Board Treasurer most recently. With my retirement from Ingalls after 47 years, I look forward to spending my time focused on leading the program in this next stage of operation.
Please join me in congratulating our newly elected officers for the Board of Directors. Board Treasurer, Riley McIlwain and Board Secretary, Cherie Auger. Riley and Cherie have been active members of the Board for many years. Additionally, we have developed an Advisory Committee comprised of Troy and Lindsay Trigg and Jodi Franke (Consultant) to provide assistance during this time of transition.
The Dream Program relies exclusively on generous donations, grants and fundraising efforts to make our program possible for our athletes. We are in greater financial need than we have ever been before, and we are thankful for supporters like you who help make sure that our programs continue to thrive for challenged individuals in our community.
I look forward to working with you as we move forward to fulfilling this great mission!
Executive Director and Chairman of the Board
